Letter from the Club
President
Hello and
welcome to the Hart Ransom 2008 Baseball, Softball and T-ball season. We
had a great turn out for registration and we are still getting more. Our
numbers for this year are higher that last year, with the greatest
numbers being in the T-ball and 7-8 year old divisions. We also have a
record three Pony Baseball teams this year.
The Board of
Directors has been working hard and we are continuing our efforts to make
this a fantastic year for all. One of our efforts in doing so was to have
everyone read and sign a Code of Conduct form during registration. This
simple step is just one way of showing our commitment to a fun, safe and
joyful experience.
We have also
started the selection of coach’s for the various divisions. There are
certain criteria for selecting coach’s and we as a Board take this very
seriously. I want to encourage you to get to know your coach’s early on
and build a trust and confidence with them. Also don’t be afraid to bring
things that concern you to your coach. Even though we have had a number of
applications for coach’s we are still in need of more volunteers. One of
our Board members will be calling you to ask if you can help. All I ask is
that you at least consider it.
An
organization as big as ours requires lots of volunteers so please take the
time to help. It doesn’t have to be a lot, it could be as simple as
picking up that piece of trash as you walk by or emptying a trash can that
is full.
NEW this year!
All of our Boys and Girls teams from 7-14 year olds will be getting new
uniforms. The uniforms will have the logo that we adopted last year (the
one painted on the sides of our snack shack). Teams this year will also be
keeping their jerseys, but returning the pants. The best news of all is
that we where able to do so without raising our fee’s. The other thing
that is new is that HR Board members will be wearing white polo shirts
with the HR logo and Board Member insignia on them. We are there for you,
please stop us and let us know how we are doing or if there is anything
you need to discuss. There will be at least one board member at the HR
fields during all games.
Sponsorships
are hugely important to the success of any Youth non-profit organization
and we are no different. Stacey Perry is on her second term as our
fundraising manager and has come up with very good ideas for you to take
advantage of. There are different levels of sponsorships, one for every
business. Be sure to check it out on our web site at
www.hr-baseballclub.org.
One last note
before I go. With the passage of measure G last year, Hart Ransom School
will be going through some big changes. One of those is going to be new
baseball fields. So, this will be our last year at our existing facility.
I know a great many of you have been through this program and have seen
your children go through it as well. And what a great bunch of memories it
has been. That’s all I have for now. Look me up and say Hi when you have a
chance.
Thank You,
Jim Ridenour
